Terms of Service
The ground rules for using this website and for inquiring about one of our puppies.
Last updated: September 14, 2026
The most important thing on this page: submitting an inquiry does not reserve a puppy, and nothing on this website replaces the written agreement you sign when a puppy is actually placed. If the two ever disagree, the signed agreement wins.
Accepting these terms
By using brooksgoldenretrieverpuppies.com you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this website is
This site describes our breeding program and the puppies currently available. Descriptions, ages, photographs, and availability are accurate to the best of our knowledge when published, but puppies grow and litters change. Nothing here is an offer to sell a specific dog, and availability shown on the site is not a guarantee.
Inquiries are not reservations
- Submitting the inquiry form starts a conversation. It does not reserve, hold, or commit a puppy to you.
- We review every application and we do decline homes that are not the right fit for a particular puppy. Being declined is not a judgement of you — it usually means the match is wrong.
- A puppy is only reserved once we have confirmed it in writing and the agreed deposit has been received.
- Prices shown on the site may change. The price that applies is the one stated in your written agreement.
Deposits, payment, and placement
Deposit amounts, what they secure, whether and when they are refundable, pick-up arrangements, and any transport costs are set out in the written agreement for your specific puppy. Please read that document carefully and ask us about anything that is unclear before you sign or pay.
Commitments that travel with the puppy
Our placement agreement carries a small number of conditions that we take seriously:
- Limited registration. Puppies are placed on limited (pet) registration. Breeding rights are considered only for approved show or sport homes, on a co-ownership basis.
- Spay and neuter timing. We ask that puppies be altered between 12 and 18 months, so growth plates close properly before the procedure.
- Return to us, always. If at any point in your dog's life you cannot keep them, they come back to us. Not a shelter, not a re-sale. This is a lifetime commitment on our side and a binding term on yours.
Health-related commitments are set out separately on our health guarantee page.
Using the site properly
Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, submit deliberately false information through our forms, scrape it for bulk commercial use, or use our name, photographs, or puppy descriptions to advertise dogs that are not ours. Misrepresenting our program to buyers is the one thing we will always pursue.
Photographs and content
The photographs of our puppies and the text on this site belong to us and may not be reused without permission. Some stock photography used for page design is licensed from third-party providers and remains theirs.
Accuracy and liability
We write this site carefully, but we provide it as-is and cannot promise it will be error-free or continuously available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here reduces the obligations we take on in a signed placement agreement or in our health guarantee.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, and by the terms of the individual agreement signed for your puppy.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. Terms already agreed in a signed placement contract are not changed by an update to this page.
