Privacy Policy

We ask for as little as we can, we use it only to answer you, and we never sell it. Here is exactly what that means.

Short version: the only personal information we collect is what you type into an inquiry or contact form, plus the email you send us. We use it to reply to you and to place a puppy. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Who we are

Brooks Golden Retriever Puppies is a family breeding program placing Golden Retriever puppies with families. This policy covers brooksgoldenretrieverpuppies.com and the email we exchange with you about a puppy.

What we collect

We collect information in three ways:

What you send us in a form. Our inquiry and contact forms ask for your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, your living situation, your experience with dogs, and whatever you write in the message field. Every field is one you fill in yourself.
What you send us by email. If you email us directly, we hold that correspondence in our mailbox.
Standard server logs. Our host records ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We do not use this to build a profile of you.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website, and you should never send card numbers or other financial details by email.

How we use it

To reply to your inquiry and answer your questions.
To assess whether a particular puppy is a good match for your home.
To keep in touch about your application and, if you are placed with a puppy, about that puppy.
To keep our own records of who our puppies went home with, so we can honour our lifelong return commitment.

We do not send marketing email unless you explicitly ask to be added to a waitlist or litter announcement list, and you can ask to come off it at any time.

Who else sees it

We keep your information to ourselves. A small number of service providers necessarily handle it in order to run the site:

Our web host serves the pages and runs the small function that turns a form submission into an email.
Our email provider carries and stores the resulting messages.
Content delivery networks serve the fonts, styling framework, and some of the photography on this site. Loading those files tells the provider your IP address and browser, as with any website.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We will disclose information if the law genuinely requires it.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. The third-party providers above may set their own cookies when your browser fetches files from them; you can block those in your browser settings without breaking the site.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry correspondence for as long as it is useful to the placement process, and we keep records relating to a puppy we actually placed for the life of that dog, because our contract commits us to taking the dog back at any point. You can ask us to delete an inquiry that did not lead to a placement and we will.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. Email info@brooksgoldenretrieverpuppies.com and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights; we will honour them.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use information you already gave us will be explained here rather than made quietly.
